It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally pushed live a rather large update to this website. As with all things like this, it’s just the start and there’s lots of optimising to be done.

The biggest change is how I present my services. The site used to list six: planning, wireframing, design, development, documentation, and support. My original plan was to write blog posts for each and link them back to the service pages.
But the reality is, it’s just me. Writing quality content (is this quality content?) takes time, and too often I’m busy working in the business rather than on it - something I’m aiming to fix going forward. I've really enjoyed working on my own site.
To be honest, no client has ever asked for just one service. I work with clients from site plan through to launch and beyond. While six services looked impressive, simplifying the offering made more sense.
Navigation
The top navigation is now streamlined to just three main links positioned in the middle: Design & Build, Support & Maintain, About and Contact pushed over to the right. Everything else is still available in the footer, where I expect it to be found via search or social media rather than distracting from the core offering.
By grouping my work into two clear categories - designing and building websites, and supporting and maintaining them - I can show exactly what I do without expecting people to jump between lots of service pages
Design & Build
This new page pulls everything together in one place. It explains my process, highlights what I can do, and answers one of the most common questions in this industry: “How much does it cost?”
Of course, costs really depend on scope, but I’ve included typical pricing for three common website types: Start-up, Corporate, and Enterprise. This acts as a pre-qualifier for enquiries, helping potential clients quickly see where they might fit.
The page also features:
Testimonials that weren’t easy to find on the old site.
An FAQ section I can keep adding to.
Availability notices (“Available from [MONTH YEAR]”), so clients know when I can realistically start.
Clear calls-to-action to book a 15-minute call, powered by Cal.com.
The schedule meeting pop-up uses cal.com
Support & Maintain
For too long I had a Google Doc listing my support and maintenance services. It worked, but it didn’t do this part of my work justice.
Now, support has its own dedicated page. Leading with pricing, it sets out three packages: Startup Core, Corporate Plus, and Enterprise Max - each based on how many updates are included, response times, and a bank of annual troubleshooting hours.
The page also explains:
What needs updating and why it matters.
Client feedback in the form of testimonials.
Two one-off options—Essential Fix and Critical Fix.
FAQs and a clear call-to-action at the end.
This change has already sparked new ideas. I’m now planning blog posts that share real troubleshooting stories, mini case studies that also serve as promotion for this service.
Contact
I’m really pleased with the new contact page. It’s simple, to the point, and backed up with bullet points that reinforce the expertise shown throughout the site. The form itself only asks for the essentials, so I can reply quickly and get the conversation started.
For handling submissions, I’m trialling Lettermint, a European-based service that ensures reliable, secure email delivery. Setup was straightforward thanks to their Laravel mail driver.
My contact form uses Lettermint, to ensure form submissions make it safely into my inbox.
Blog
The blog homepage has a fresh design, moving from a single column to a clean grid. Each entry now includes metadata showing when it was posted and last updated, with category links at the top and bottom of the page.
My goal is to post at least once a month - casual updates like this, plus deeper dives into client work, services, and process. The key is to keep making small, regular improvements to both the blog and the wider site.
